“He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God” (Romans 4:25). Because of His desire to enjoy a relationship with us, God provided the means of forgiveness through the work of Christ on the cross. But forgiveness is not the destination. It is the pathway to relationship, because Jesus was “raised to life to make us right with God.” Today we celebrate the victory of Jesus over death, which opened the way for us to be right with God, a deep and abiding relationship, for all who would receive Him.
