    Exploring the Psalms- Introduction

“Most of Scripture speaks to us, but the Psalms speak for us.” Athanasius, ancient Church Father, spoke those words over 1600 years ago, and they still ring true today. The depth of emotion, from joy to sorrow, fear and anger, hope to despair…it’s all in there. Today we begin a series for the summer looking at some of the themes of the Psalms and how they give voice to our deepest thoughts and feelings, as God desires that we get real with Him and with each other in our pursuit of the One the Psalms point to, Jesus.

    Servant of Christ- Romans 1:1
"What do I look like? Your servant?"  Ever heard that one?  Or better yet, have you ever said it?  Servanthood often gets a bad rap in our culture.  However, servanthood in the 1st century was a bit different, and to be a servant in Christ's Kingdom is the greatest position of all.  We are servants of Christ.  Today we take a closer look at what that means.
